How monitoring works.

Monitoring and system alarms are iPhone features. The website is a free relaxation companion and never starts sleep tracking or sets an alarm.

A latest wake time, with an optional early window

On a supported iPhone, choose a latest wake time and an optional 20, 30 or 40 minute early window. A system alarm is scheduled first. Saving an alarm leaves the microphone off. Start sleep tracking separately when you are ready for bed.

Movement monitoring is beta

The app processes microphone sound in memory to look for changes that might indicate movement. It first learns the room’s background level. A usable signal may offer an earlier alarm inside the selected window. This is an experimental movement heuristic, not recognition of light, deep or REM sleep.

Keep your plugged-in iPhone on a stable bedside table near you, with the microphone clear, away from bedding. Partners, pets, fans and room noise can affect the signal. Playing drift off audio suppresses early detection so the app does not treat its own sounds as your movement. If the signal is interrupted or unclear, the already-scheduled latest-time alarm remains.

An independent backup

An optional backup can be scheduled 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes after the latest wake time. Stopping the first alarm or ending its tracking session does not cancel this backup. Cancel it separately in the app. iOS also provides a Stop control when it rings.

Last night’s sleep

Apple Health can supply your synced time asleep and any available Core, REM and Deep stages, with the source shown. Health records are historical estimates, not a live alarm trigger. The app’s own tracking session duration is shown separately and is not time asleep.

Sleep is grouped into local noon-to-noon nights. Overlapping intervals are merged and a preferred source is used to avoid adding contradictory stage streams. Missing data stays missing. Activity comparisons need enough paired days and describe an association, not a cause.

Privacy and evidence

No microphone recordings, sound measurements or Apple Health records are uploaded. Optional product diagnostics require separate consent in the iPhone app. No clinical or sleep-stage research study is active. This beta has not been validated as an overnight sleep-stage classifier.
